An essential guest session with David Thackeray on safe, ethical intimacy practices in film and TV, with real-world industry insights.About this Event
This is one not to miss!
Join us for a very special guest session with David Thackeray, one of the UK’s leading Intimacy Coordinators, whose work has helped shape some of the most talked-about film and television productions of recent years.
Trained originally as an actor and stage director (with work transferring to London’s West End), David brings a rare, holistic understanding of performance, storytelling and on-set practice. Since becoming one of the pioneers of intimacy coordination in 2017, he has worked across Netflix, Disney, HBO, BBC, Sky and more, setting industry standards for safe, respectful and authentic storytelling.
His credits include Sex Education, Dune: Prophecy, Adolescence, The Crown, The White Lotus, 3 Body Problem and many more.
In this session, David will share insights into:
- What intimacy coordination really involves
- Why it’s essential knowledge for actors, directors and producers
- How collaborative, ethical practice improves both performance and production
- Real-world lessons from major international sets
Whether you’re pursuing acting, film production, writing, or are simply curious about professional standards in contemporary screen work, this session offers rare, first-hand industry insight and is made possible as part of our ongoing partnership with FEST Film Lab.
