Welcome to The Music of What Happened, our fourth edition of the Storytellers Residency, bringing the art of traditional oral storytelling to a contemporary audience.Tickets: https://events.humanitix.com/storytellers-residency-the-music-of-what-happened
Will Wilson returns for the April residency to tell a story that can be considered a pillar of the Finnian cycle of Irish mythology.
The Story: The Pursuit Of Diarmuid and Grainne this story covers a huge amount of ground both mythically and literally. It asks us to consider who we are, who and what are we loyal to and how far are we willing to go to uphold our loyalties. In real terms its a love story that lives in the tension that lies between lovers, friends and all those that love carries along.
The old myths are not just for entertainment, they explore the relationally of the human sensory experience with the natural, mythical and more than human worlds. They are a conversation with the imaginal, bring imagery that will haunt and inhabit us (haunt in the best of ways) as they reveal the symbolic and pattern based wisdom that lies outside of the world of the senses.
"Will’s Storytelling is so vivid and rich that you can’t help but hang on every word, and be transported across time and space. He has a precious gift for weaving narratives that will stay with you, in you, long after they are told."
James “Fish” Gill - Author, Transformative Facilitator and Heart Coach.
About the Storyteller: Will Wilson
Will lives in the tension and paradox that myths so eloquently hold: domestic and wild / land and sea / village and adventure / sacred and profane / silly and sincere.
He has traveled and lived the stories he tells, from the wilds of Devon to the edges of Scotland, with study in MA Poetics of Imagination gives his storytelling a grounding that takes you beyond the encounter.
