Event:
Join authors Sa'diyya Nesar and Stephanie Ng on January 26th as they share their powerful journeys of self-acceptance and resilience against societal perfectionist ideals through the art of storytelling.
Stephanie will talk about her own experiences with eating and body image challenges, while Sa'diyya will discuss her lifelong journey of navigating a muscular physical disability since birth.
Together, they will explore thought-provoking questions, including:
What does it mean to adopt identity labels related to illness or disability? How do these labels influence our self-perception?
In what ways does storytelling assist us in confronting the obstacles of a stigmatized identity?
How can writing about personal experiences promote acceptance of our struggles?
Why is it vital for discussions about mental health and disability to reach broader audiences, and how can we enhance accessibility to these topics?
This event offers a wonderful opportunity to engage with both authors, purchase a copy of their books, and have them signed.
We hope to see you there.
