The SVA’s annual Parade of Lights is a community favourite, drawing thousands of spectators along the Stittsville Main Street parade route. Each year scores of beautifully decorated community floats set the tone for Santa’s much anticipated arrival at the end of the parade. Merry makers are also encouraged to stay for the lighting of Village Square Park, and to share in some hot chocolate, cookies, and a visit with Santa immediately following the parade.Full parade instructions will be sent out later in the year, along with a liability waiver which you will be asked to complete and return.
When decorating, please keep in mind the theme of the parade - lights! Light things up! Get lit! Be bright!
Adult and youth volunteers are encouraged to get in touch. We need many people to wear a fluorescent vest and to stand by a road closure barricade. Ages 16 and older please.
