Come join us for queer4queer life drawing and live music!Details for this event:
We hope to provide a space for queer people to come together and celebrate each other and the bodies we live in through art. Having a queer body can be a WHOLE THING and we don't often see ourselves represented in art. We hope this event can offer a different experience.
We will provide some basic art supplies but feel to bring your own materials if you prefer. There will be beverages for sale (all profits going to future events and paying the musicians and models).
The space:
What Lab is located at 1814 Pandora Street. There is no dedicated parking, only street parking. The venue is on the second floor, up a flight of stairs, but there is a ground level accessible entrance through the back of the building. If anyone needs to use this entrance, please let us know ahead of time. There is one single-occupancy, gender-inclusive washroom. The washroom is not big enough for larger style wheelchairs to completely turn around in while the door is open.
About the Organizers:
Queered Connections is a collective on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We aim to create spaces for queer people to explore expression in community. We know that sometimes arts-focused spaces can be unwelcoming. Our goal is to offer events where our community can gather and support each other in taking creative risks, expressing ourselves, and making deep connections.
