Steps & Service: Veterans Salsa & Bachata Night

Join us for a Veterans Salsa & Bachata Night, hosted by Chicago Veterans in collaboration with American Legion Commodore Berry Post #256. Whether you’re brand new to dance or already have some moves, this event is designed to be fun, welcoming, and beginner-friendly.

We’ll kick off the evening with a women veterans–only salsa class, creating a comfortable space to learn the basics and build confidence. Then we’ll open the doors to all veterans for a partner-based class, followed by a lively social dance where you can practice your moves and connect with others.

🕗 8:00 PM – Partner Dance Class (Co-Ed Veterans)
Focus on connection, timing, and partner movement

🕘 9:00 PM – Social Dance Party
Enjoy a DJ spinning salsa and bachata—dance the night away with your fellow veterans

Instruction will be led by Jonathan Green, a well-known Latin dance instructor in Chicago. He leads the popular Salsa Mondays and Salsa Wednesdays series in Pilsen and is known for creating engaging, community-focused classes for all levels. His teaching style emphasizes connection, confidence, and having fun while learning.

Our events are proudly hosted and produced by women veterans within our community. From mosaic art and cooking classes to networking events and social gatherings, we are committed to creating spaces that uplift and empower women veterans.

While men comprise 90% of all U.S. veterans, we recognize the importance of events tailored to the unique experiences of women who have served. These gatherings provide a supportive platform to connect, share stories, and build lasting relationships.
