Think like an engineer. Design like an innovator.
In this hands-on 4-DAY building workshop, students will tackle real-world design challenges using the LEGO Education Science kit in a relaxed classroom setting. Instead of following instructions, campers will be challenged to create their own solutions — by thinking outside of the box and testing, improving, and refining their ideas... just like real engineers.
Campers will:
⚙️ Design and build solutions to open-ended engineering challenges
🧠 Learn about the engineering design process: plan → build → test → improve
🛠️ Experiment with structures, motion, and mechanical systems
🔄 Improve on their designs to allow for better overall performance
🤝 Collaborate in teams to solve complex problems
Each day combines group and individual structured activities focused on creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and hands-on building. At the end of the week, our final design challenge allows attendants to present their solutions to the lab team for feedback!
Students will explore real-world science and engineering concepts by building, testing, and experimenting with the LEGO Education Science kit designed for middle school learners interested in engineering and building construction. Each day campers are encouraged to work together - promoting curiosity, confidence and critical thinking.
