The Museums of Western Colorado is proud to invite the community to its annual State of the Museum Address, presented by Executive Director Shenna Hayden, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. This year’s event will not only highlight the remarkable milestones achieved in 2025 but also launch the museum’s 60th anniversary celebrations.The morning begins at 8:30 a.m. with the State of the Museum Address, where Hayden will share accomplishments from the past year, including innovative exhibits, expanded educational programming, and strengthened community partnerships. Attendees will gain insight into how the museum continues to inspire curiosity, preserve history, and celebrate the unique story of Western Colorado.
Following the address, the museum will host a community roundtable discussion. This interactive session invites residents, partners, and supporters to help shape the vision for the museum’s future. With a focus on stability, sustainability, and storytelling, the roundtable will explore how the Museums of Western Colorado can continue to do what it does best: preserve and share the history and science of the region.
