About this Event

Get ready to raise a toast (and maybe a biscuit) to tradition, music, and Gamecock pride! Join us for Stars, Stripes, and Spurs Up: The Biscuit Rebellion – a BBQ fundraiser dinner where military tradition meets campus history in the most delicious way possible.

We’re thrilled to welcome Nashville recording artist and VAC member Brooks Herring as our special musical guest! Brooks will take the stage with a set of country hits and crowd favorites that will have you singing along and feeling all the Carolina pride.

But this isn’t just about good food and great music – it’s about giving back. All proceeds from the evening will support the Salute to Service Scholarships, providing vital assistance to student veterans and military-affiliated Gamecocks.

We're also excited to have Tim "POPS" Frisby as our keynote speaker. After being the first African American to play basketball at Central Catholic High School in Allentown, PA, Tim joined the military and had a career in the Army. Upon retiring from the Army, he played football for South Carolina at the age of 39. Tim will share how those two careers interested and other interesting stories from his time in the Army and at USC.

And let’s not forget the legendary inspiration behind the event – the Biscuit Rebellion of the early 1850s, when hungry students demanded better food (especially biscuits) from the campus dining hall. We’re channeling that rebellious spirit with a hearty BBQ spread, featuring all your Southern favorites – and yes, there will be biscuits!

It's time to party like it’s 1852 and support a great cause!

Secure your tickets today and join the rebellion!
