Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wanted to know more?
You will use your unaided eye and observing aids ranging from simple optical telescopes to modern portable astro-imaging kit. We’ll start with an overview of what is visible and learn to recognise some of the brighter constellations. We’ll describe their use in navigation and retell some of the ancient legends that they inspired, before moving on to see planets, sparking star clusters, stellar nurseries, the ethereal remnants of dying stars, and the millions of years old light from distant galaxies. Please do bring your own binoculars or telescopes if you wish.
