About this Event
GAPP and Anderson Churches for Racial Unity (ACRU) welcome Ignite Peace* staff to present an evening program focused on building community support for our immigrant neighbors.
Join us to build connections and learn how to respond to the realities of immigration with compassion and justice.
You'll learn:
- what is happening
- how to respond to challenging scenarios
- how the Anderson area and beyond can create a network of support for our immigrant neighbors.
In the fall of 2025, GAPP and ACRU invited Ignite Peace to offer Immigration 101 to explain how the immigration system works and doesn’t work. Over 100 people attended and many expressed an interest in knowing how they could do more. This training will help our east-side area take the next steps to actively respond to the challenges facing the local immigrant community.
*Note: Ignite Peace coordinates the Immigrant Dignity Coalition, a network of 40+ organizations dedicated to informing, connecting, and mobilizing the Southwest Ohio / Northern Kentucky community to defend and protect the dignity of the immigrant and refugee community by working in partnership with one another.
