About this Event

A St. Armands Visioning Workshop was held on February 26, 2026 to discuss opportunities, concerns, and the long-term vision for the future of St. Armands Circle with community stakeholders. Attendees provided input through roundtable discussions and a visioning wall. The City has engaged independent facilitator Dr. David Brain to guide this visioning effort. The April workshop will begin with a brief introduction from Dr. Brain, followed by a summary of responses from the February workshop and additional details regarding ongoing and future projects.

Discussion topics are expected to include:

  • Long-term strategies to protect natural assets, strengthen infrastructure, including discussion of potential future undergrounding of utilities, and identify opportunities to revitalize the St. Armands commercial area
  • High-level stormwater, flood resilience, and drainage considerations, including coordination with Sarasota County
  • Flood elevations and topographic considerations

This workshop is open to the public and intended for:

  • St. Armands residents
  • St. Armands merchants
  • St. Armands commercial property owners
  • Community stakeholders
  • Anyone interested in the future resilience and vitality of St. Armands
