About this Event
76th Annual General Meeting of the St Andrews Business Club.
Following the annual club business proceedings, our guest speaker Dean Banks will share insights on his career and business journey, before a networking reception.
Our Speaker
We’re thrilled to welcome Dean Banks as our guest speaker. While many will recognise Dean as a finalist from MasterChef: The Professionals, his journey from an Arbroath kitchen to becoming one of Scotland’s most successful chef-entrepreneurs is a story of sheer graft and local pride.
Dean has built a remarkable culinary footprint, starting with his flagship, , right here in St Andrews, and expanding into Edinburgh and beyond. What makes his story so compelling isn't just the accolades or the 3 AA Rosettes; it’s his hands-on, self-made approach. Whether it’s launching a national luxury delivery service during lockdown or creating his own premium gin and vodka labels, Dean has a knack for spotting an opportunity and running with it.In his talk, Dean will take us behind the scenes of his business journey. He’ll share the realities of scaling a brand from the ground up, the importance of staying adaptable, and how his travels across 40 countries shaped his vision for hospitality back home in Scotland.
Expect an honest, down-to-earth look at what it takes to thrive in a fast-moving industry—and a healthy dose of inspiration for anyone looking to turn a passion into a multi-site success.
Oh, and if you haven’t tried his St Andrews Bay smoked lobster, you’re missing out on a local legend.
Come along to hear from a business owner who isn't afraid to do things differently and find out what’s next for the Dean Banks Group.
