Caroline Meikle Project Architect at AGL Architects
Pitfalls of the Minor Works Contract
Don’t be caught out by a claim conscious contractor
Caroline is an Architect based in Stirling with AGL Architects. With extensive experience of Contract Administration over the last 30 years, in both commercial and domestic environments, it has become clear that domestic contracts can be as confusing as reading a book in a foreign language, as overwhelming as climbing a ladder to the clouds and as hard as walking through mud with concrete shoes. It takes just one exposure of an unscrupulous contractor – “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” – to hit a small practice with dire consequences.
Her talk navigates through the quagmire of the minor works contract, highlighting pitfalls, that on the face of it may appear as common sense, but are all too often overlooked in our overstretched role of an architect in today’s climate.
----
At the end of the sessions there will be Q&A, and time set aside to network and gain valuable insights to enhance your skills.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to to connect with fellow architects, advance your knowledge in essential aspects of construction and contract administration, and remain up to date on the latest industry trends!
Please come along and be part of the conversion.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Best regards,
SSA Committee
