About this Event
A training resource created for frontline social care workers, to plant a seed of thought and challenge practice on the front line. Informed by those with lived experience, academics and a carers hub, the training tackles topics ranging from the intersection of dementia and LGBTQ+, including:- Why are the needs of the LGBTQ+ community different?- What are these needs?- How can we support care partners and provide care (including End of Life Care) which respects and values authentic living.- Wider considerations, for example conditions such as HAND (HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorder).
This resource raises awareness and challenges the thoughts of in those delivering care within our communities, that those who identify as LGBTQ+ are supported in a way that allows them to be true to who they are.
