Imramma Tuesdays is a new monthly session curated by Gringo and Big 🐁 throughout 2024 where select people bring the sounds they listen to in the small corners of their homes to SR’s intimate space. Taken from Maltese, “ġurdien tal-imramma” refers to the little mouse that often appears peeping through faults in limestone walls. What’s less known is the meaning of “imramma”, a form meaning “house” which features in Il-Kantilena, the first fully formed literary piece written in the Maltese language back in the 1400s which outlines “imrammti” as a house.
