About this Event
Denver is one of the most fertile music cities in the country and Sqwerv is further testament to that fact. Their roots in the scene began to take hold as the band started hosting local open jams and playing gigs in small bars and venues in 2017. Since then, Sqwerv has earned its place alongside other acclaimed jambands like Magic Beans, Squeaky Feet and Eminence Ensemble.
A young band conjuring an alchemy of classic, psychedelic and indie rock is commonplace these days. However, there’s something about the soulfulness and detail-oriented, organic flow of this quartet that is refreshingly original and exciting. Sqwerv realizes the importance of strong songwriting steering the ship. This is where it all begins before plunging down the improvisational rabbit hole. They are fiercely driven to get to those transcendent, spontaneous spaces that all jam music lovers crave. Sqwerv continues to tantalize their audiences through groove counterpoint, polyrhythms and risk-taking.
In the last two years, the band has released two studio albums, three lives albums and completed two national tours. They have seized the moment when opening for acts such as lespecial, Spafford, Eggy and Big Something. With many of their shows now available on the Nugs app, the word is getting out and the gospel of Sqwerv is reaching the masses. Exhibiting a deft balance between dark soundscapes and beautiful explorations, they are heightening their ability to stir audiences both instrumentally and lyrically. Their cover selection is gangbusters, including Grateful Dead, Phish, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, less expected blues classics and many more unexpected bangers. This is one of those bands poised to make a dazzling impression for their Crazy Horse debut.
