Three days of FREE outdoor screenings in St Andrew Square Garden, Edinburgh!Edinburgh’s much-loved free outdoor movie weekend, Square Cinema with LNER, returns for the 15th year this June, bringing three days of big-screen entertainment to the heart of the city in one of the UK’s biggest free outdoor cinema events.
Set in the picturesque surroundings of St Andrew Square Garden, the three-day event is funded by Essential Edinburgh Business Improvement District along with train operator LNER continuing its headline support, together with beer partner Heineken 0% and event partners Costa Coffee and Point A Hotels, the free festival is presenting a packed line-up of spectacular cinema!
Entry to Square Cinema remains free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis - no booking required!
Concessions available within Square Cinema include drinks from our Official Beer Partner Heineken 0% and food tasters from Dishoom.
Fans of Back To The Future can look forward to something special on Saturday 13th June, as audiences will have the opportunity to see and snap the famous DeLorean time-machine!

The safety of the public attending Square Cinema is our highest priority, and we appreciate your co-operation to comply with the following conditions for the safety of yourself and others:
- Please note that Film Classification Regulations do apply to this event, please ensure you check the certification of the film you are attending. Anyone under the film certification age will not be permitted entry.
- Any persons under the age of 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult 18yrs+
- Picnics welcome but NO ALCOHOL may be brought in or out of the event arena
- NO GLASS may be brought into the event arena
- Management reserves the right to refuse entry:
• Anyone acting in a manner deemed inappropriate by management inside the event arena may be asked to leave
• Anyone deemed to be drunk and disorderly or under the influence of drugs will be refused entry or asked to leave the event
- For the safety and comfort of all our guests, we may conduct security searches of clothing, bags and all other items on entry and exit to this event. Our security team are there for your safety. Please co-operate fully with all security checks and support these vital members of our team as they carry out important work to keep us all safe and sound
- Should you see any suspicious behaviour or anything which causes you concern or makes you feel uncomfortable, please notify a member of staff who will be happy to assist
- Please be aware that large rucksacks and suitcases are not permitted into this event
- Please use bins provided for rubbish and clean up any litter
- On entering the event you consent to official filming, photography and sound recordings as members of the public, which may be used in future promotions by organisers
- The use of professional cameras and any audio/video recording equipment by the public is strictly prohibited at the event
- No pets allowed – Assistance Dogs only
- Organisers reserve the right to make changes to advertised event time(s) and schedule(s)
