Explore the deeper connection between art and nature! During this session, we will use observational skills to create scientific illustrations of various colorful specimens. Participants will receive all of the necessary supplies along with guided instructions. There is no fee and attendance is open to all ages! This activity is part of the Elisabet Ney Museum's brand-new program, Breaking the Mold: Mobile Art Crates. The crate, itself, and the inside contents were designed by Virginia L. Montgomery, as a way to illuminate Elisabet Ney's views as a naturalist while enlisting STEAM focused teaching methodologies.
The museum's education staff will bring the Breaking the Mold program into local fourth grade classrooms this spring. To learn more about this initiative, please contact our Education Coordinator at [email protected].
