Refresh your spring wardrobe sustainably for as little as $10 at our epic Spring Clothing Swap!
Join Chicago Fair Trade’s Conscious Closet Club for a weekend-long clothing swap at the Chicago Fair Trade Museum. We welcome swappers of all ages, sizes, and genders to this ever-popular fan favorite event.
We have two ticket options: get first dibs at our Exclusive Preview Night ($39) or thrift for less with our General Admission ticket ($10). Space is limited, so tickets will be good for a 3-hour time slot.
What is a Clothing Swap? Have you ever had a piece of clothing lingering at the back of your closet that is perfectly good, but you never wear? So do most of us... in fact, there's already enough clothing on the planet to clothe the next six generations.
At a Clothing Swap, participants bring along gently used clothing and accessories, then swap them with items brought by others. It's the perfect way to save clothing waste from going to landfill and upgrade your closet with new-to-you treasures you will actually wear!
EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW NIGHT: Friday, April 10 from 6-9 PM

- Take home up to 10 swap items; get first dibs!
- Free readmission to one slot on Saturday or Sunday

- Get styling tips and shopping help from our professional thrift stylists
- Win fabulous fair trade prizes from our spinning wheel
- Mingle with your fellow conscious consumers!
GENERAL ADMISSION: Saturday, April 11 from 10 AM -7 PM & Sunday, April 12 from 11 AM-4 PM
PLEASE NOTE: More and more clothing is donated throughout the weekend, so don't worry if you can't make an earlier slot-we have new to you items coming in all the time.
Admission these days is $10 (free for CFT members). Your ticket includes:
- Take home up to 10 swap items
- Please bring your own bag to carry away your clothes!
Clothing Donation Drop-Offs. You can bring your items to the swap, or drop them off beforehand at designated drop-off spots starting on Friday, March 27.
- Chicago Fair Trade Museum (4704 N Broadway, Chicago): Wed-Sat 12 pm-5 pm
- The Unwaste Shop (1108 W. Madison St., Chicago): Tues-Fri 10 am-6 pm, Sat 10 am-5 pm, and Sun 11 am-5 pm
- Gather: Consciously Curated (1509 Chicago Ave, Evanston): 11 am-6 pm Monday through Friday, 10 am-6 pm on Saturday, and 12 pm-4 pm on Sunday
- Mata Traders (5112 N Ravenswood, Chicago): Mondays-Fridays 10 am-4 pm
- Chicago Creative Reuse Exchange (2124 W 82nd Pl, Chicago) Wednesdays 12 pm-5 pm, Thursdays 12 pm-7 pm, Saturdays 10 am-4 pm
Acceptable items: Clothing in good condition for all ages, sizes, and genders. A little wear and tear is fine, but please don’t bring anything that’s already reached the end of its useful life! We will accept all types of clothing, jewelry, and accessories, as well as clothing hangers to use on the day.
