About this Event
This event is in partnership with the charity Give Your Best, who are providing the majority of the clothes.
Drop-off (12:30–13:00) You can drop off clothes in advance to help with the smooth running of the event. If you can’t drop off clothing in advance, that's fine, please bring it along during the event.
How it works
Bring up to five items of clothing to trade for tokens.
Clothes must be clean and in good condition (no holes or tears, please).
We will be using a token system:
- 1 token for each preloved or high-street item (under £50)
- 2 tokens for higher-value items (over £50)
Use your tokens as currency to choose from the preloved items available.
What to bring
We accept clothing in all shapes and sizes. While we do accept children’s clothing, the swap will mainly consist of adult items.
Not accepted:
- Shoes
- Underwear
- Swimwear
Rules
- Please do not stand around the check‑in area.
- Customers should hold on to no more than 10 items at a time - no hoarding.
- Due to the size of the library, suitcases and large bags are not permitted in the clothes swap area.
They may be left near the helpdesk, but this is at your own risk.
Food
Food will be available to purchase from a local business.
Disclaimer:
You can only swap if you bring items to exchange. Only bring items of clothing you are happy to swap with as once they are handed in, they cannot be returned. All clothes not swapped at the event will go back to the charity, Give Your Best.
