🔹Wednesday, March 18 | Layered Cellophane Collages
🔹Experiment with transparency and opacity as you create layered artworks inspired by Paul Reed’s Disc series. Cut and collage colorful cellophane into bold shapes to capture Reed’s luminous overlapping effects.
🔸Thursday, March 19 | Masking Tape Paintings
🔸Play with color layering and geometric design using masking tape, liquid watercolors, and acrylic paint pens on canvas panels. Draw inspiration from Paul Reed: A Retrospective and The Legacy of the Washington Color School, on view through April 12, 2026.
🔹Friday, March 20 | Mixed-Media Assemblages
🔹Explore how Paul Reed used color, form, and geometry in his art during your visit to Paul Reed: A Retrospective. Then head to the classrooms to layer shapes, textures, and patterns into your own vibrant mixed-media assemblage.
🔸Saturday, March 21 | Chalk Pastel Zentangle Drawings
🔸Create bold, abstract line patterns with permanent markers, inspired by Reed’s rhythmic drawings featured in Paul Reed: A Retrospective. Bring your design to life with soft chalk pastels, blending bright colors into a layered, luminous effect.

ABOUT DROP-IN ART
Every third Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm, Museum visitors are welcome to join us for Drop-In Art activities related to exhibitions on view! These come-and-go activities are suitable for all ages and provide a perfect opportunity for visitors to connect with the galleries and tap into their creativity.
