Swim Squad – Endurance + Efficiency for triathlon and open water swim performanceWe’ve renamed and evolved the Weekly Tuesday 7.00pm intermediate group into a more focused swim squad designed specifically for triathletes and open water swimmers building endurance, pacing control and efficient front crawl.
These coached sessions at Guildford Lido are structured, progressive and designed to help you swim further, smoother and faster with better technique under fatigue.
Each session blends:
• Front crawl technique refinement
• CSS / threshold pacing sets
• Endurance-focused main sets
• Stroke efficiency and distance per stroke work
• Open water skills (sighting, drafting, pacing awareness)
• Race-specific swim preparation for triathlon and open water events
The goal is simple: build swimmers who are comfortable holding pace, swimming continuously, and staying efficient over longer distances in real race conditions.
Who it’s for:
• Intermediate adult swimmers and triathletes
• Those training for sprint, Olympic, 70.3 or Ironman events
• Open water swimmers building confidence and endurance
• Swimmers typically around 1:30–2:20 / 100m pace range
• Able to swim ~400–800m continuous front crawl comfortably
Sessions are coached with progression in mind, and every week builds towards better pacing control, stronger technique under load, and improved swim confidence in both pool and open water environments.
If you’re working towards open water swims or triathlon season, this is your base-building squad.
