$Special LIVE Walk in EGYPT: The Colossi of Memnon and Amenhotep III\u2019s Funerary Temple$

Join us for a LIVE WALK ON THE LEGENDARY WEST BANK OF LUXOR, where the silent guardians of ANCIENT THEBES still watch over the desert. Our journey begins at the MONUMENTAL COLOSSI OF AMENHOTEP III, towering statues that once marked the ENTRANCE TO ONE OF THE LARGEST TEMPLE COMPLEXES OF ANCIENT EGYPT. As we walk along the remains of the great mortuary temple, we will explore its history, its destruction, its rediscovery and excavations. FOLLOWING THE ANCIENT LAYOUT OF THE TEMPLE GROUNDS, we will MOVE TOWARD THE FOOTHILLS OF THE THEBAN NECROPOLIS, reaching the area of QURNET MURAI, which we will observe from the outside while uncovering its role within the vast funerary landscape of western Thebes. Our walk will CULMINATE AT THE IMPRESSIVE STANDING COLOSSI at the NORTHERN ENTRANCE, monumental figures that still hint at the scale and grandeur of Amenhotep III’s lost temple. A journey through open desert, archaeology, and royal ambition — live from Luxor.
