Special Event: The Wick and Wine Experience at "keerah"

Before the curtain rises, guests are invited into an intimate, sensory-led gathering designed to spark connection, conversation, and reflection.

The Wick and Wine Experience presents an immersive candle-pouring experience inspired by themes from Netta Walker’s “keerah” at Definition Theatre.

Through curated fragrance blending, intentional conversation prompts, music, and storytelling, guests will create a custom candle while engaging in a warm, community-centered experience designed to help people slow down, connect, and arrive fully present for the performance ahead.

This is not a traditional candle-making class. It’s a guided social experience rooted in atmosphere, creativity, and meaningful connection.

Each ticket includes:

• A custom candle-pouring experience
• Curated music and guided conversation elements
• Complimentary wine
• Admission to the 3 PM performance of “keerah” by Netta Walker

Founded by Alicia Brown, The Wick and Wine Experience transforms candle pouring into an immersive social experience centered around connection, creativity, and intentional gathering. Blending fragrance, music, conversation, and atmosphere, each experience is thoughtfully designed to help guests slow down, engage authentically, and share meaningful moments with others. Alicia Brown is a graduate of the Definition Innovator Small Business Incubator and has a background in experiential marketing and community-centered event design.

About "keerah"

In this Amplify World Premiere, two aspiring young writers meet in a Chicago neighborhood on the cusp of gentrification. Ciara, a Black American poet, and Cormac, an Irish writer on a J1 visa. They connect over their shared love of language, literature, and the art of cruelty. What begins as fun flirtation transforms into an intense summer romance—until immigration, bad decisions, and unspoken truths tear them apart.
