Two legendary singers join forces for a powerful concert celebrating the brand new year!
GWEN MATTHEWS - From Stevie Wonder, Kenny Rogers, members of Earth Wind and Fire and numerous others, Gwen has recorded with the best. She has performed at the famed “Montreal Jazz Festival” in Canada and the “Fleur de France Festival” in Paris, and, was featured in festivals and concerts throughout Europe with The Denis Colin Trio. She also toured Russia with “Women Who Cook” and traveled internationally with the Rupert’s Orchestra. Gwen is a two time Minnesota Music Hall of Fame award winner. One honored here as the first black female to be inducted as a solo artist and the other was for her work with the famed Minnesota’s Rock Band CROW! You’ve heard her voice on many national jingles from Whirlpool, Target, Dairy Queen, General Mills and others. Gwen sings a broad spectrum of genres and loves each one which makes her a highly sought after vocalist!
ROBERT ROBINSON - Although Robert points to gospel greats Mahalia Jackson, Tramaine Hawkins, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong (with whom he has performed) as inspiration, Robert Robinson works and lives in his own genre. And eventually, it came time for him to forge a new path, combining his ministry of gospel with a vast experience rooted in soul. Told his vocal stylings were “too big for radio”, Robert set out in 2005 with a tenor voice as the superstar. He became producer, creative director and promoter of his own touring schedule and was named one of the “Ten Best Holiday Shows” by Metro Magazine in 2007. At the same time, Robert became a noted clinician giving master classes across the United States and even finding time to become a two-time national karaoke champion!
