Step into Sydney's rich sailing history with The Century-old Fleet, a unique gathering of historic vessels on the Maritime Museum’s Heritage Pontoon!We've partnered with the Sydney Amateur Sailing Club and the Wooden Boat Association of NSW to celebrate the beautiful craftsmanship and adventurous spirit of a bygone era.
From 30 September to 11 October, you can view a remarkable fleet of vessels, each over 100 years old, that have been lovingly restored and are still sailing today.
Featured Vessels Include:
Hoana (1925) – A racing sloop with an incredible story of circumnavigation.
Jenny Wren (1889) – One of Australia's oldest racing yachts.
Utiekah II (1911) – Linked to Harold Nossiter, the first Australian to circumnavigate the globe in a yacht.
Sao (1905) – A highly intact example of early 20th-century design, once sailed by Charles Kingsford Smith.
Maritimo-Katwinchar (1904) – A beautifully restored racing yacht with a storied past.
This is more than just a display! You can meet the dedicated owners who keep these boats afloat and explore historical exhibitions.
Join us for a selection of free daily activities from 1 - 6 October, including boatbuilding and maintenance demonstrations with our Fleet team.
