What to expect? Have a read of this review from the Local Authority publication following South Shore gig at CNP in January this year:
‘It’s hard to believe that this is only the second outing for South Shore as a four-piece, as Rob Grigg is at such ease behind the drum kit and contributes so much to the overall sound and dynamic within the group. He adds a shuffled waltz rhythm to 'Magpie Hall Road' and provides the swinging core of 'Chatham Skies,' which is becoming a big, swirling set closer for a band pulling in a loyal and increasing following. The setlist highlights the versatility of all of the band members as it takes surprising turns in mood and melody, given momentum by Rachel Lowrie’s powerhouse vocals. Stuart Turner’s guitar accents colourfully boost 'Lady of Chatham' to hooky new heights, while Nick Rice’s pop sensibilities are to the fore where he trades vocals with Rachel on the first two verses of 'Fading Out.' Even when covering Leonard Cohen’s 'Dance Me to the End of Love,' the band make the song strikingly their own, with perhaps a few shades of The Coral thrown in.’
