On April 11, 2026, South High School celebrates 100 years!This is a year of milestones—Colorado turns 150, the United States celebrates 250, and South High proudly reaches its centennial.
The South PTO and SHAFI are teaming up to plan a community-wide celebration. Expect alumni reunions, school events, and a special birthday tribute to honor South’s remarkable legacy.

Denver South High School 100 year Anniversary Celebration
Schedule of Events for Saturday, April 11, 2026 at South High School
10:00 a.m. ROTC Color Guard Raises Flags outdoors
10:30 -a.m. Dr. Kathy Corbett leads a tour of the South Building from outside to inside of the architectural features of South
12:00 noon Reflections of the Decades at South, in South’s Auditorium
Speakers sharing stories from 1950s to Present
1:30 p.m. History of South High by Phil Goodstein, South Auditorium
2:15 p.m. The Newcomers program and the South Giving Grocery

3:00 p.m. Celebration Ends
Between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. there will be:
* Self-guiding mural tours inside South,
* Displays in the main hallway and the hallway inside the courtyard
*Tours of the Clock Tower and the Alumni Museum
*ROTC Hall of Honor for all SHS graduates who served in military
* Food Trucks will be present with various culinary delights.
* Student guides both inside and outside the school
* Group and individual pictures from a South photographer on site
