About this Event
We join up with the Sussex Wildlife team this month at one of their urban nature reserves - explore the site and the wildlife that lives there.
The Deneway Nature Reserve is closed to the general public and linear greenspace stretching along over half a kilometre of the main rail link between London and Brighton. As a former brownfield site, it is a valuable urban environment consisting of secondary woodland, mixed scrub and grassland. The reserve offers a sheltered wildlife corridor from open downland into the suburbs. It is a hidden gem, home to a wide variety of wildlife.
The site is readily accessible by public transport and bicycle.
Experience a mix of practical conservation tasks alongside some bushcraft activities, citizen science and some outdoor cooking.
There is a compost toilet on site
