About this Event
Dive into the art of sourdough with our hands-on class, perfect for beginners and seasoned bakers alike! In this first installment of our Sourdough 101 Series, you'll learn the essentials of crafting and maintaining your own sourdough starter—the foundation of all great sourdough baking. We’ll guide you through the simple ingredients and techniques needed to cultivate a thriving starter and share tips for keeping it active and healthy.
To deepen your understanding, we’ll showcase some baked loaves made from starters at different low points, illustrating common mistakes. We will also demonstrate a simple sourdough recipe you can try at home once your starter is ready for baking.
To top off the experience, we’ll treat you to a slice of freshly baked sourdough paired with balsamic vinaigrette, extra virgin olive oil, flaky salt, and easy-to-make compound butters.
By the end of this class, you’ll leave with the confidence to begin your sourdough journey! And you will take home a jar with the beginnings of your new starter and with printed instructions for cultivating and maintaining it and a basic recipe for using it in your first sourdough bread.
This is the first of three classes in our Sourdough 101 Series. Take all three to become a true sourdough master! For more information about the second class, click .
