About this Event
Held at East End Eden, this gathering will empower 12 students to make cheese in their home kitchens, utilizing the techniques of natural cheesemaking made popular by David Asher. Trevor Warmedahl (Milk Trekker) will lead the sessions, with Connor Jones hosting the event and introducing us to his herd of sheep, cows, and buffalo.
The event will be 5 days long, from April 17 - 21, and each day will start at 9:30 and end at 5:00, with lunch included. We will learn how a starter culture can be cultivated from raw milk and how plant and animal rennets can be made, as we make 6 fresh cheeses including feta, halloumi, ricotta, and queso fresco from raw cows milk.
A general description of the philosophy and approach can be found here.
A class outline can be found by following a link on my website.
Onsite tent or vehicle camping is also available for 20$ a night, paid in person.
