Sound Meditation with a Live Band
About this Event

Join us for a beautiful evening of meditation and music with an intention to support you in reaching deep states of relaxation.

The evening, led by sought-after sound meditation facilitator Jay Taylor, will feature sound from both mystical and modern instruments (singing bowls, bass, saxophone, flute, udu drums, percussion). As the improvised experience evolves you are welcome to stay cozy on your mat, sit up, or even dance as your intuition guides you. In fact, the band encourages you to fully express yourself so you can release any pent up emotions and tension in your body!

No prior experience, training, or beliefs are required to participate and/or benefit from this experience.

Who is The Meditation Movement?????

The Meditation Movement is a musical quartet exploring improvised sonic landscapes in service to altered states of consciousness and deep relaxation through meditation. At the core of The Meditation Movement's sound are instruments such as singing bowls, gong, and shruti box as played by meditation facilitator Jay Taylor. These foundational drone instruments work to anchor participants into various meditative states while providing a springboard into the world of complete expression and improvisation. Max Lazarus (woodwinds), Chris Paquette (percussion), and Aidan Epstein (basses) co-create the experience by collaboratively exploring subtle and bold textures as well as engaging in an ever evolving musical dialogue.

The group began jamming together in 2021 and offered a series of meditation experiences at the Northshore Healing Center. In 2022 the band found a new partnership with Jennifer Pansa and created The Meditation Movement. These experiences paired yoga, guided movement, and essential oils with improvised music resulting in a deeply immersive and expressive experience.
