Sound Healing Temple: Rhythm, Taal & Shabad

A healing sound experience exploring rhythm (taal) as cyclic time—allowing sound to stretch, silence to deepen, and the nervous system.
About this Event

Rhythm in Indian and Sikh musical traditions is not simply beat-keeping.

It is a cyclic structure of time—known as taal—that creates stability, coherence, and a sense of return.

When rhythm is held in this way, sound can stretch and breathe, silence can deepen, and the nervous system can begin to settle.

This evening is a healing sound experience centered on rhythm, taal, and Shabad. Through deep percussion, cyclical rhythm, spacious listening, and Raag-based Shabad Kirtan, the music creates a steady temporal field that supports grounding, presence, and regulation.

Rather than pushing sound forward, cyclic rhythm allows the listener to rest inside repetition and return. This sense of inevitability helps the body relax, attention stabilize, and listening become more embodied.

Shabad enters this rhythmic space not as performance, but as vibration—carried by rhythm, supported by silence, and received through the body as much as the ears.

No prior experience with Indian music, meditation, or sound healing is required.

This is an invitation to listen deeply and allow rhythm to do the work.

Come as you are.

Listen with the body as much as the ears.
