This is an AoR approved CPD course, and as such gives AoR members double CPD points for undertaking.
This training course will introduce you to a powerful and effective way of enhancing your reflexology treatments with the use of a buffalo drum, Himalayan singing bowls, chimes and tuning forks to create a bespoke Sound Reflexology session. Studies have found that sound healing can bring the listener into a deep state of relaxation leading to potential benefits with sleep, psychological wellbeing, reduction in heart rate and altering the perception of pain. We will cover:
The benefits of using sound healing instruments with your reflexology client
How sound healing works
Playing techniques: on and off the body
What to look for and where to buy good quality instruments and accessories e.g. wands
Working with specific frequencies or rhythms to release or enhance energy
Balancing chakras
How to work specific foot and hand reflexes with sound
Contraindications
Caring for your sound healing instruments
The training consists of an online theory module to be studied before attending the 2 days in class workshop which will focus on practical methods and techniques.
The cost for this course is £290 for this date at the venue in Milton Keynes. You will also be provided with a purchase list on enrolment but are not required to purchase everything before the course starts, so that you can gradually acquire your sound healing tools. However, to give you some idea the recommended drum is around £110, the tuning forks are approximately £200, one chime is c.£40 and a singing bowl is in the region of £100.
N.B. Your certificate of completion of this training will only be awarded once you have submitted 3 home practice treatment case studies. This certificate entitles you and gives you the knowledge and understanding to use the buffalo drum, Himalayan singing bowls, chimes and tuning forks effectively within your one2one reflexology treatments. It does NOT give you training in how to be a sound healing practitioner, offer sound baths or teach these therapies to others.
Who is this training suitable for?
You must be a reflexologist with a qualification in reflexology as recognised by the Association of Reflexologists (or equivalent in other countries).
This course is aimed at those with little knowledge of sound healing. If you have previous training or experience and want to discuss whether this course might be beneficial to you, please contact the tutor, Carolyn Roberts.
