Flamenco Arts International (FAI) presents the World Premiere of Songs from a Sinking Ship — two performances only, May 23, 2026 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Presidio Theatre.
The production follows a ship's crew as a mysterious siren's warning transforms a routine voyage into a supernatural battle between ego and redemption — all told through flamenco. Thunder, sea, and the supernatural come alive through passionate dance, original music, and immersive performance.
Songs from a Sinking Ship earned a Special Award from the Isadora Duncan Dance Awards for outstanding achievement in every aspect of performance, along with Izzie nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Direction or Choreography and Outstanding Achievement in Performance – Company.
Directed by José Maldonado. Featuring Juan José Amador, Eugenio Iglesias, Carlos Menchaca, David Chupete, Marian Fernández, Reyes Martín, Marina Elana, and living legend El Torombo.
