About this Event
These times need our singing more than ever - in the streets, in each others homes, and all the places we gather. In singing together we are instantly unified. And stronger, louder, more resourced, more powerful, and more beautiful.
This is an introductory workshop on the skills needed for leading songs in the oral tradition. No skillset is required to participate. This kind of singing is also called community singing, a lineage your workshop teacher, Megan Eberhardt, has been in for nearly a decade.
Bring: a notebook and pen, water bottle, and your willing heart.
Location: 4251 N. Lincoln Ave in North Center in a lovely community space owned by the Rudolf Steiner Branch Chicago.
Time: 1-3pm. Please arrive by 12:45 to get checked in and settled.
Cost: Sliding scale $40-80 with a limited number of scholarship and work trade spots. Please reach out if you are BIPOC or serve BIPOC communities.
This workshop will be taught by songleader, organizer, and cultural activist Megan Eberhardt who leads song circles at the Old Town School of Folk Music and elsewhere in Chicago.
