About this Event
Learn how mindfulness, meditation, journaling, gratitude, breathwork, and energetic awareness can bring healing to your nervous system and stability to your day-to-day life.These no-movement or low-movement, all-ages classes will teach you the basics of how your somatic system works, and how to care well for yourself from the inside out.Yoga mats, bolsters, and blankets are available to borrow, to create a cozy learning environment. Bringing a notepad or journal is encouraged. This class is suitable for all ages, though participants should be prepared to sit quietly for an extended period of time so as to not impact the focus of those around them.
The six classes of this series take place on March 23rd, March 30th, April 6th, April 20th, April 27th, and May 4th.
Class meets in the room adjacent to the elevator on the first floor of the Washington Cracker Building (304 W Pacific).
3/23 -- Week one: Somatics for nervous system regulation
Learn about the nervous system, and how to hack yours during times of stress to facilitate peace and tame overwhelm.
3/30 -- Week two: Somatics for more restful sleep
Learn somatic techniques to fall asleep faster, allow for deeper and more restful sleep, and remain rested during the day.
4/6 -- Week three: Somatics for anxiety
Learn about anxiety, how to identify your triggers, and techniques for managing anxious responses.
4/20 -- Week four: Somatics for self-awareness
Learn how to use journaling, mindfulness, and the movement of energy in your body to understand yourself and your own needs better.
4/27 -- Week five: Somatics for creativity
Learn how to break through creative block, think outside the box, and find confidence in your imagination by empowering your nervous system.
5/4 -- Week six: Somatics for letting go
Learn about grief and the effect it has on the body, recognize symptoms of stagnation, and discover radical acceptance.
Meet your instructor:
Mor is a certified yoga instructor, somatic coach, and religious trauma specialist, with over 800 hours of formal training in yoga and nearly two decades of teaching experience.
Mor's training includes study with Harmony Yoga and Uplifted Yoga, and is part of the 2028 graduating class at Inner Peace Yoga Therapy School. Mor's work integrates trauma-informed yoga, somatic awareness, and compassionate teaching practices to support those with religious trauma in the pursuit of healing and wholeness.
In addition to yoga, Mor began exploring aerial silks in 2013 and teaching aerial yoga and dance in 2017. They trained in aerial yoga instruction through Kama Fitness, and studied aerial dance instruction with Nimble Arts.
Whether on the mat or in the air, Mor's driving force remains the pursuit of freedom, healing, and a celebratory connection of body and mind.
