About this Event
Too long? Here’s the short version
Somatic Release is a body-led breath and movement workshop designed to help release held stress, ease overwhelm, and reconnect with your body. The session is dynamic and embodied, involving guided breathing, movement, and physical expression, with a strong focus on choice, safety, and nervous system support.
This workshop is especially supportive for people who hold stress in their body, struggle with stillness-based practices, or want a grounded way to release tension without pressure or forcing.
Main overview
Somatic Release is a body-led workshop designed to support people experiencing stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and physical tension. It offers a supportive way to release held stress through breath, movement, and rest, particularly for those who feel they carry a lot in their body.
This is an embodied and dynamic session that includes breathing, moving, shaking, stretching, and responding to what the body needs in the moment. The intention is not to force release, but to gently mobilise and unwind patterns that have built up through stress, pressure, masking, and holding everything together.
Rather than leaving the body or focusing on altered states, this work supports staying present in physical sensation. Breath is used as a grounding tool to support embodiment, regulation, and release, not as a way to escape into the mind.
The focus throughout is on choice, permission, and listening to your body. There is no right way to do the practice, and you are always encouraged to slow down, pause, or rest whenever you need.
Many people find this work supports:
- releasing physical tension and stress-related pain
- easing anxiety and feelings of overload
- coping more steadily with external stress and triggers
- feeling less reactive or easily overwhelmed
- building resilience and capacity in daily life
- supporting overall wellbeing and vitality
This workshop is especially supportive for:
- neurodivergent people exploring unmasking and regulation
- people rebuilding trust in their body and internal signals
- those who want to explore movement and expression without judgement
- people who struggle with stillness-based practices
- anyone carrying a lot for others while feeling stretched or depleted
The focus is on choice, permission, and listening to the body, rather than doing things “correctly”.
