Solo Piano Concert: The Fire of TransformationIn Samkhya philosophy, the element of fire is primarily associated with the power of transformation. Just as fuel is transformed into heat, light and gasses, food is transformed into nutrients and by-products by the digestive fire (digestive juices/acids) and knowledge, experience and discipline are transformed into wisdom.
It's my intention with my musical expression to burn away everything superfluous in the psyche of the listener so that the mind can be brought to rest in the heart. Ultimately, whether or not such an outcome is possible is beyond my control but it's my desire and intention nonetheless.
To put it another way, it's a solo piano performance dedicated to the quote, "Die today to what you could become tomorrow."
You can expect a mix of jazz songs, meditative improvisations and free improvisations. The concert will be held in the lovely and very pretty setting of The Bristol Green House Studio.
