"Solo jazz" or "vernacular jazz," are umbrella terms referring to the wide range of non-partnered movements and steps danced and performed to swing music from the 1920s-1940s.
In this all levels class, we will build a foundation of classic steps and work on skills for using that vocabulary confidently on the dance floor. The first half of this class will focus on connecting to a few steps, growing our rhythmic clarity and confident transitions. In the second half, it's party time! We'll talk improvisation, jam circles, and social solo dancing.
Doors open at 6:45pm, workshop from 7-9pm
