Everyone knows the old saying, “You can’t judge a person until you’ve walked (or ran) a mile in their shoes”. It’s a reminder that connection begins with understanding. Sole 4 Soul is a significant and important race for us at the PARC. This race is an opportunity for our community to experience walking a mile in the shoes of our members, those who come to the PARC on a daily basis.
On Saturday, April 11th, the PARC is hosting a 10k, 5k, or 1 mile walk for our community to run or walk the very same routes as many of our members. On this course though downtown, you will be able to see the places where they sleep, receive their resources, and the paths many of them take to get to the PARC every day.
For many experiencing homelessness, daily life becomes focused on simple survival. They are unseen, and it is easy for them to forget who they are and to know their value.
THE PARC’S MISSION
The Panhandle Adult Rebuilding Center is a safe place where those who are homeless are always welcome. Everyone is called by their name when they walk through the door. We take time to truly know each member - their stories, strengths, and struggles. It’s through relationships and accountability, as well as daily classes and opportunities for productivity, that we can help them develop confidence, a sense of dignity, and a sense of accomplishment. This gives them the hope to take steps to begin moving forward.

We are SO EXCITED to announce our annual 5K/10K is back and better than ever. Happening April 11th starting at the PARC and running downtown Amarillo! This run is unique as we take you on the same routes those experiencing homelessness in downtown Amarillo walk everyday, creating a spirit of empathy and compassion. We are so thrilled to be able to host this event this year and cannot wait to see everyone! 🏃🏾 🏃🏻♀️ 🏃🏼♂️
