Join us on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 12:00 pm-6:00 pm for the Solar Saturday: Black History Month Kick-Off Block Party! In partnership with PNC, the Carver is celebrating the Black History Month Centennial with an action-packed kick off! As a full-site activation, we will open the festivities with a proclamation in front of the museum on the plaza, Black Makers Market will be in full effect with free hot cocoa and cookies from Starbucks, we'll have fun events, workshops, and activities in the conference room, the classroom, the dance studio, the theatre, and the drum, vinyl records on long play with DJ Marc Fort will fill the halls, and the new gallery exhibition featuring the work of Steven Bernard Jones will be opening! So much beautiful community connection and celebration - you don't want to miss this! Light snacks and refreshments will be served, free and open to the public, designed for all generations in mind.
