This workshop is centred on embodied ways of practicing connection and resistance through the principles that sustain my movement practice: falling in (the practice of becoming) and raising.
Through a series of exercises assembled over the last 7 years, developed during the making of works such as Falling In, Notes on Body Space and Matter (2019), Earthrise (2021), and up until my current research, the workshop offers a situated compilation of scores and movement practices. It works as a kind of throwback into a cycle of practice that has been moving between aesthetic inquiry and intuitive curiosity, approaching the body as a source of knowledge.
Over time, this inquiry has shifted towards a more specific attention to embodiment as a site of radical vulnerability and softness, understood not as fragility but as a method of connection and resistance.
The workshop unfolds as both a celebration and a three-hour deep dive. We will move through somatic and dance exercises that explore how we fall, arrive, gather, and rise, individually and collectively.
We will also hold space for the interdisciplinarity that sustains this work, moving continuously between text and movement, and movement and text, in an ongoing state of wondering and translation.

> About Marta Wörner : <
Marta Wörner Sarabia (b. 1990, Madrid) is a movement artist working through expanded choreography. Drawing on dance-based research, speculative philosophy, film, and sculpture, she develops vocabularies that engage with an undisciplinary approach to movement.
Her perspective on embodied exploration is informed by contemporary dance, Feldenkrais, and Aikido. Guided by principles of collaboration, experimentation, and translation, her work closely intertwines artistic research with pedagogy. She works as a mentor in the Master’s programme in Choreography at Codarts University of the Arts (Rotterdam) and Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts (Tilburg), supporting emerging artists in the development of their practices.
Marta trained in dance performance across various European institutions and independent platforms. She holds a Master’s degree in Choreography from Codarts and Fontys, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her work has been presented internationally at venues and festivals including the Fringe Festival (Madrid and Edinburgh), Cinedans Festival (Amsterdam), Boulevard Theatre Festival (Den Bosch), TENT Rotterdam, the Arsenale of Venice, The Grey Space in the Middle (The Hague), MOMO Festival (Rotterdam), ADM Circus Festival (Amsterdam), and WORM (Rotterdam).
