About this Event

This four time Oscar nominee follows Armando, a technology teacher from Sao Paulo in 1977 Brazil, who moves to Recife in the hopes of starting his life over. His past conflicts haunt him however, as the simmering political tension in the city reaches a fever pitch causing further danger for Armando.

The chaos of the city’s carnival provides a sweltering setting for this political thriller, nominated for four Oscars including Best Leading Actor for Wagner Moura, Best Picture, Best Director and Best Casting.
