Join us on Saturday, September 13 in New York City for "Socialism in Our Time," a one-day conference marking the 15th anniversary of Jacobin magazine.
This all-day gathering will bring together organizers and scholars for a critical reckoning with the state of the socialist movement in the United States and beyond. Through a series of panels, we’ll take stock of what’s been built over the past 15 years and confront the challenges ahead for a renewed socialist theory and practice.
The program will span eight panels across four time blocks, covering topics like class dealignment, worker organizing, the limits of social democracy, and models of socialism beyond capitalism. The day will culminate in a keynote address by Vivek Chibber advancing a renewed Marxist vision for class politics in the 21st century. Whether you're a seasoned activist or newly politicized, this conference offers a space to reflect, strategize, and recommit to building a durable and democratic socialist movement.
