The third Social Sciences Winter School in Karachi is a collaborative effort between the Centre for South Asian and Himalayan Studies in Paris (CESAH, CNRS-EHESS) and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Scheduled to be held at IBA City Campus in Karachi from November 4th to 8th, 2024, this event aims to explore societal dynamics through the use of image, film, and sound in the humanities and social science research.Participants can choose one of the following three workshops:
- Workshop 1 – From studio to screen. Methodologies of writing social sciences with light
- Workshop 2 – From fieldwork to documentary film in social sciences
- Workshop 3 – Recording sound and creating sound documentary
The call for participants will be launched by mid-July, 2024. Please note that the deadline for submission of application is 15th of September (incl.), 2024. Participants will be selected by the steering committee and the workshop coordinators, with notifications of acceptance to be sent by September 30th, 2024.
