About this Event

Learn more about the campaign "Social Mobility in Asia: Advocacy, Collaboration and Action" on Community Business' website.

Over the past 30 months, Community Business has delivered Social Mobility: Advocacy, Collaboration and Action — a multi-market research campaign examining how background, opportunity and workplace practices shape access to opportunity and career progression across Asia.

This event marks the conclusion of the Social Mobility research campaign and the official launch of the Mainland China and Malaysia deep-dive reports. Together, these final publications complete a comprehensive body of research spanning multiple Asian markets, offering evidence-based insight into how social mobility is understood, experienced and enabled within corporate workplaces.

The session will reflect on the evolution of the research, from early data collection through to how findings have been interpreted, reviewed and applied in practice. We will explore how conversations around workplace inclusion and opportunity have shifted since the research began, and what this signals about changing expectations of fairness, access and progression.

The event will also celebrate the collective effort behind the research — recognising the researchers, contributors and peer reviewers who shaped the publications; the organisations spotlighted in the resources who work tirelessly to advance social mobility across Asia; and the sponsors and partners whose collaboration made the campaign possible.

We will highlight the impact of the research to date, before hearing directly from sponsors on what they found most compelling, how they are using the insights within their organisations, and their future plans to strengthen social mobility in the workplace.

This event closes the research chapter — and sets the direction for action ahead.
