Chinese Film Festival Hamburg (CFFH) presents Snow Leopard (雪豹), Dir. Pema Tseden, 2023). On the Tibetan plateau, a snow leopard breaks into a herder's sheep pen and kills nine rams. Jinpa, the herder, locks the animal inside and refuses to release it without compensation — but killing a snow leopard is a serious crime. His father sees the creature as a sacred spirit and wants it freed. His brother, a young Buddhist monk, dreams of the leopard and offers everything he has for its life. A TV crew arrives. Then the authorities.

What begins as a dispute over livestock becomes something far larger: a collision between tradition and modernity, faith and law, human need and the wild.

Completed just weeks before Pema Tseden's sudden death in May 2023, Snow Leopard is his final gift to cinema — described by Sight & Sound as among his most ambitious and beautiful works. Winner of the Grand Prix at the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival. Premiered out of competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. Also screened at Toronto International Film Festival.

汉堡华语影像展（CFFH）呈现《雪豹》（导演：万玛才旦，2023）。藏区高原，一头雪豹闯入牧人金巴的羊圈，咬死九只公羊。金巴将雪豹困在圈内，拒绝放行——但雪豹是濒危保护动物，擅自猎杀是重罪。父亲视雪豹为神灵，坚持放生；弟弟是年轻的佛教僧侣，在梦中与雪豹相遇，愿以一切换取它的自由。电视台赶来了，官员也赶来了。一场关于牲畜损失的争执，最终演变成一次更深刻的碰撞——传统与现代、信仰与法律、人类的生存需求与荒野的权利。

影片在万玛才旦2023年5月骤然离世前数周完成，是他留给电影的最后遗作。《Sight & Sound》称其为他最雄心勃勃、最美丽的作品之一。荣获第36届东京国际电影节最高奖东京大奖，并于第80届威尼斯国际电影节非竞赛单元首映，随后入选多伦多国际电影节。
