About this Event
We’re excited to share something new we’ve been building at Single Mom Strong, shaped with one group in mind: your teens. After an awesome kick-off event, SMS Teen is back!
As our children grow, their needs shift. They’re navigating more independence, more pressure, and more questions about who they are and where they’re headed. We’ve heard from many of you that there aren’t enough safe spaces where teens can show up, feel comfortable, and connect in a positive environment. That’s why we launched SMS Teen.
This isn’t a night of lecturing or something that feels like an after-school program. It’s a practical, welcoming space where teens can connect, relax, and be themselves.
Teens will have the opportunity to:
-Connect with peers who understand their experiences, or reconnect with friends they know through Single Mom Strong or EmpowerME
-Relax and have fun in a safe, structured environment
-Build confidence and a sense of belonging
-Share their voice and help shape what comes next
This month, we're hosting a GLOW NIGHT, where teens will:
-Get creative! Teens can personalize items, paint their faces and more!
-Use the “content corner” for self-expression
-Enjoy dinner, games, music and time to chill
What you can feel good about:
-A variety of dinner options
-Adult staff on-site throughout the event
-A night "off"!
NOTE: This program is presented in partnership with the City of Sacramento, #SactownYouthNights. While created by Single Mom Strong, youth of all family types between age 12 and 17 are welcome. This must be completed by a parent or guardian before the event.
SMS Teen is a monthly opportunity, with rideshare and carpool options planned for future events. Most importantly, your teen will be in a space designed with intention, where they are seen, respected, and part of a growing community.
This is just the beginning. SMS Teen will continue to grow with input from the teens themselves, so it reflects what they actually need and want.
